Sanitation is the biggest challenge being faced by state government's in India as around 60% of world's open defecation takes place in India. Talking about the statistics, out of 2,50,000 gram panchayats in India, only around 28,000 gram panchayts have achieved the Nirmal Gram (Open Defecation Free Village) Status.
Poor Sanitation has resulted in diseases like Diarrhea, Cholera, Typhoid, Polio have taken over the remote areas of the country.
We are working with various gram panchayats, village societies to make them realize the importance of adequate and clean drinking water, sanitation, hygiene since they have direct impact on life expectancy. As part of research, we found that almost 70% of schools in remote areas don't have proper and clean washrooms resulting low attendance in schools.
We are working with local authorities actively and our team has helped build clean washrooms and motivate women to go for washrooms instead of open deification.
